    A new family of quinoline and quinoxaline analogues of combretastatins
    摘要:
    The 3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl ring of combretastatin A-4 can be replaced by a 2-naphthyl moiety without significant loss of cytotoxicity and inhibition of tubulin polymerization potency. In this paper we show that the 6- or 7-quinolyl systems can in turn replace both cyclic moieties, keeping in the first case most of the potency as cytotoxic agent and in the second case as inhibitor of tubulin polymerization, related to the activities displayed by model compounds.     A metal‐free, base‐mediated oxidative dehydrogenative coupling of substituted phenylmethanols (benzyl alcohols) with methyl azaarenes or phenylacetonitriles to afford substituted alkenylazaarenes or 2‐aminoquinolines, respectively is presented.

    characterized with FT-IR, NMR, HRMS and single crystal X-ray method. The new complexes were tuned as effective homogeneous catalysts for synthesis of selective (E)-olefins from the reaction of methyl heteroarenes and benzyl alcohols via greener ADC methodology. The earth abundant nickel complexes performed well with 4 mol% of catalyst loading at 110 °C for 35 h, resulting in good to excellent yields (40–93 %)

    Herein, we report a base-free malononitrile activated condensation of 3-methylquinoxaline-2(1H)-one (3MQ) 1 with aryl aldehydes 3a–3ad for synthesis of styrylquinoxalin-2(1H)-ones (SQs) 4a–4ad with excellent yields. In this reaction, malononitrile activates the aldehyde via Knoevenagel condensation towards reaction with 3MQ 1 and gets liberated during the course of reaction to yield the desired SQs

    aldehydes has been achieved through a novel synergistic organocatalysis. The HOAc‐ activated 2‐methylquiolines undergo a Michael addition to 1,3‐dimethylbarbituric acid‐activated aldehydes, followed by a retro‐Michael addition to release 1,3‐dimethylbarbituric acid and the target products. The transformation produced various 2‐alkenylquinolines with good to excellent yields and featured mild reaction conditions

    strategy is operationally simple and scalable and tolerates various functional groups under mild reaction conditions. Notably, an aldehyde and aryl-2-quinoline-2-yl-ethanol intermediate are involved in the catalytic reaction mechanism. The utility of the present procedure is demonstrated through a facile synthesis of the antifungal drug (E)-2-(2-(pyridin-4-yl)vinyl)quinoline.
