  (EN) Compounds of formulae (1), wherein R represents a CH3 or CD3 group; R1 represents an alkyl group; R2 represents an alkyl or aryl group; and N may be either an 14N or 15N atom, with the proviso that when R represents CD3, the methylene and vinyl hydrogen atoms of the six-membered ring are deuterium; and (2), wherein R and N are as defined above, X represents hydrogen or a mono-, di- or triphosphate group, or a phosphate ester derivative; and Y represents a purine or pyrimidine base, with the proviso that when R represents CD3, the methylene hydrogen atoms of the six-membered piperidine ring are hydrogen or deuterium. Processes for the preparation of these compounds are also described.
