Active carbon supported cobalt catalyst was studied for the hydroformylation of 1-hexene in the presence of alcohol solvents at low pressure. The influence of various solvents on the hydroformylation and the CO conversion vs time on stream were investigated in detail. It was found that the heterogeneous catalyst shows excellent activity only in the alcohol solvents.

Co-catalysis of rhodium/phosphoramidite catalyst and ZSM-35(10) for the tandem hydroformylation–acetalization of olefins
The Rh/BINAPa and ZSM-35(10) co-catalyzed tandem hydroformylation–acetalization of olefins is developed to afford the corresponding acetals with high regioselectivities and excellent catalytic activities.

2,4,6-Trichloro-1,3,5-triazine Catalyzed Chemoselective Transthioacetalization of Aldehyde Acetals and Oxathioacetals

A mild and efficient transthioacetalization of aldehyde acetals and oxathioacetals was carried out using 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine as a mild and inexpensive catalyst. Chemoselective transacetalization is impressive as aldehyde O,O- and O,S-acetals are converted into the corresponding S,S-acetals in the presence of ketones or their acetals and oxathiocetals in nearly quantitative yields.
