Jet fuel range high-density C13–C15 cycloalkanes were first synthesized at a high overall yield (∼80%) with polycarbonate waste.

A catalytic system comprised of Ru-ReOx/SiO2 and HZSM-5 was developed for hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of various oxygen-containing aromaticplastic wastes (PC, PET, PBT, and PPO) to cycloalkanes as liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs), with high yields up to 99 % and a theoretical hydrogen storage capacity of ca. 5.74 wt%.
