β-Alkoxycarbonyl ethyl tin chlorides, the so-called “estertins” (a unique class of PVC stabilizer) form stable coordination complexes with bidentate ligands like oxine and substituted oxines. A number of complexes of the types R2SnL2, R2SnLX, RSnL2X and RSnL3, where R = CH3CO2CH2CH2, C4H9CO2CH2CH2, CH3CO2CH(CH3)CH2 or CH3COCH2C(CH3)2, X = Cl or SCN, and L = oxine, 5,7-dichloro oxine or 5,7-dibromo oxine
