The complete analysis of the odoriferousC11 polyenes of the Mediterranean seaweed is descried. Besides seven known hydrocarbons, 3-undecanone and dictyoprolene , the 4-((1E)-1-hexenyl)-cyclopentene and 6-((1E)-1:-butenyl)-cyclohepta-2,5-diene were isolated for the first time and their structures confirmed by synthesis.
