  [（芴）FeCp] PF 6的去质子化形式起到将环戊二烯基铁（CpFe）转移到其他环戊二烯基（Cp'）的作用，从而生成混合二茂铁（CpFeCp'）。通过使用这种方法，已经制备了许多新的混合二茂铁，并且其中一种混合二茂铁已用于制备双金属和三金属化合物。
