New procedures for the synthesis of 3-(1,5-diphenyl-3-pyrazolyl)aryl propanoates and related 2-(1,5-diphenyl-3-pyrazolyl)aryl propanoates from a common 3-hydroxymethylpyrazole intermediate are described.
