AbstractAusgehend von Cyclodecanol‐(1)‐on‐(2) wurden verschiedene isocyclische Verbindungen mit einem Zehnring hergestellt, unter anderem: das Cyclodecin und die beiden cis‐trans‐stereoisomeren Cyclodecene, Cyclodecandiole‐(1,2) und 1,2‐Oxido‐cyclodecane.

Treatment of ketones with bis(trimethylsilyl) peroxide and Lewis acid such as SnCl4 or BF3·OEt2 in dichloromcthane at room temperature affords esters in fair to excellent yields. Jasmine lactone is synthesized from 2-[(Z)-2-pentenyl]cyclopentanone by means of Me3SiOOSiMe3–BF3·OEt2 system without any protection of the carbon-carbon double bond. The oxidation of enol acetates of ketones to α-hydroxy (or α-acetoxy) ketones with Me3SiOOSiMe3–FeCl3 system is also disclosed.

Abstract A convenient synthetic method for 2,3-disubstituted quinoxalines is described. Heating the aryl or alkyl acyloins and o-phenylenediamine in a microwave oven for 3–6 minutes affords 2,3-disubstituted quinoxalines in 20–94% yields.

The bark of Ficushispida, one component of a mixture used as a cancer-cure in Thailand, yielded a new and unusual compound when extracted with light petroleum. The structure of the new compound, 10-ketotetracosylarachidate, was proven by degradation and synthesis. The lupeol acetate and β-sitosterol found in the light petroleum extract were identified by comparison with authentic samples.
