Abstract A new one-pot synthesis of α,β-unsaturatedamides with high stereoselectivity by the reaction of aldehydes with bromoacetamides promoted by tri-n-butylphosphine and zinc is described.

Rasta resin-PPh3 (RR-PPh3), a new heterogeneous polystyrene-based phosphine, has been synthesized and used in one-potWittig olefination reactions of aldehydes.
