  The germylformylation of terminal alkynes is catalysed by the zwitterionic rhodium complex, [(cod)Rh+(η6-C6H6BPh3)–](cod = cycloocta-1,5-diene); this highly regio- and stereo-selective reaction affords (Z)-3-germylalk-2-enals in 31–82% yield.
