AbstractThe quantum yields of fluorescence and photochemical reaction, as well as fluorescence decay times of several sydnone derivates were measured in dependence on temperature. It was found that not only the rate of radiationless transitions was temperature dependent but also the one of the radiative decay. Furthermore, evidence is given that the photochemically reactive state is a 3ππ*‐state.
