A copper iodide–Pyox complex catalyzes the first conjugate addition of diverse sulfur, nitrogen, and carbon nucleophiles to isocyanoalkenes. The anionic addition generates metalated isocyanoalkanes capable of SNi displacements, providing a rapid route to a series of functionalized, cyclic isocyanoalkanes.
