  The chemoselective and stereoselective addition of organocuprates to cyclic α-oxoketene dithioacetals affords predominately the vinylogous thioesters. An acyclic α-oxoketene dithioacetals affords the vinylogous thioester stereoselectively. The observed selectivities are dependent upon substrate structure and the organocopper reagent.
