Some substituted biaryl ring systems may be useful in light-emitting devices, such as those comprising a light-emitting diode. Some examples may include optionally substituted 2,2′-bipyridinyl or optionally substituted 3,3′-bipyridinyl. Each ring of these bipyridinyl systems may have an optionally substituted benzimidazol-2-yl substituent or optionally substituted benzoxazol-2-yl substituent, as well as other substituents.
