Linking Two Alkyne-Bridged Dicobalt Complexes via a Urea-Based Ligand: Synthesis and Spectroscopic and Structural Characterization of {[Co<sub>2</sub>(CO)<sub>6</sub>(μ-HC≡C-)]-CH<sub>2</sub>NH}<sub>2</sub>CO

Treatment of Co-2(CO)(8) with HC equivalent to CCH2NH2 under mild reaction conditions yielded an unusual complex of [Co-2(CO)(6)(mu -HC equivalent toC-)]-CH2NH}(2)C=O, 1. The structure of 1 was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. The compound 1 can be viewed as two propargylamine-bridged dicobalt complexes coupled by a carbonyl group. Obviously, carbonylation of a primary amine took place during this reaction.
