Benzaldehyde, acetone, and N-Boc-piperidone phenylhydrazones, as well as azines derived from aromatic aldehydes and ketones, react with diethyl phosphite in the presence of [tetra(tert-butyl)phthalocyanine]aluminum chloride to give α-hydrazino phosphonates in high yields.
