4-[3-(Trifluoromethyl) diazirinyl] cinnamic acid derivatives were synthesized to elucidate properties of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL). 2-Methoxy and 2-biotinylated alkoxy compounds have inhibitory activity on the formation of phenylalanine from cinnamic acid.
