Fr-IR spectra of crystalline methyl 3,4-diamino-2,3,4,6-tetradeoxy-alpha-L-lyxo-hexopyranoside (1) and cis-dichloro diamino lyxose complexes of palladium(II) and platinum(II) (2 and 3, respectively) have been recorded, assigned and discussed in terms of structure of the investigated complexes. To develop new complexes of Pt(II) and Pd(II) that have ligands in a shape complementary to DNA, we designed and synthesized a methyl 3,4-diamino-2,3,4,6-tetradeoxy-α-L-lyxo-hexopyranoside (V).
