The complexes [Ni(bipy)(DTA)(H2O)(2)]. H2O, [Ni(dtc)(HDTA)]. H2O, [Ni(phen)(ATF)(2)]. 5H(2)O and [Ni(phen)(dtc)(2)] (bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine, H(2)DTA = dithiooxamide, Hdtc = diethyldithiocarbamate, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, HATF = 2-aminothiophenol) have been prepared. Their magnetochemical and spectral properties are discussed. Some of the complexes have been studied by cyclic voltammetry. The X-ray crystal structure of [(PPh(3))(2)Cu(DTA)Ni(DTA)Cu(PPh(3))(2)], where PPh(3) = triphenyl-phosphine, was determined. The sulphur atoms of dithiooxamides are coordinated to copper atoms, while nitrogen atoms form a square planar surrounding nickel. The copper atoms are in an approximately tetrahedral environment.
