  A method of providing to a fragrance application a musky odour, comprising the addition thereto of at least one compound according to the formula I in which R 1 is selected from H and CH 3 ; R 2 , R 3 are selected from the possibilities that (a) both are CH 3 ; and (b) R 2 and R 3 together form a single bond (as indicated by the broken line); and n is an integer selected from 1, 2, 3, and 4.
