    A polyorganosiloxane emulsion comprising (A) polyorganosiloxane, (B) N-acylalkyltaurine and/or a salt thereof, and (C) water, the aforementioned emulsion having an average particle diameter of 0.15 µm or more; a method of preparation of the polyorganosiloxane emulsion, characterized by subjecting a polyorganosiloxane (a) having a molecular weight lower than that of component (A), to emulsification polymerization in water in the presence of (B) N-acylalkyltaurine and/or a salt thereof; and a cosmetic raw material comprising the aforementioned polyorganosiloxane emulsion. The cosmetic raw material of the invention possesses excellent cosmetic functionalities such as wettability, smoothness, and good affinity to skin and hair. Furthermore, it is characterized by good stability in storage and compounding stability in combination with our cosmetic raw materials.

    Aqueous suspensions of cross-linked silicone particles comprising : (A) cross-linked silicone particles with an average particle size of from 0.1 to 500 µm, (B) N-acyl-, N-hydrocarbon taurines and/or their salts, and (C) water, aqueous emulsions of oil containing cross-linked silicone particles comprising : (A) cross-linked silicone particles with an average particle size of from 0.1 to 500 µm, (D) oil, (B) N-acyl-, N-hydrocarbon taurines and/or their salts, and (C) water, with component (A) contained in droplets of component (D) dispersed in water, and cosmetic raw materials comprising said aqueous suspensions or said aqueous emulsions. The suspensions and emulsions are characterized by superior stability and by low environmental impact and minimal effects on the human body. In addition, they are extremely useful as cosmetic raw materials because of their superior cosmetics functionality such as wetness and smoothness.

    Disclosed is an oil-in-water type organopolysiloxane emulsion that is stable and has smaller particle diameters for a long period of time even in cases where a low-polarity organopolysiloxane and a cationic surfactant are used. The emulsion comprises: (A) 100 parts by weight of a diorganopolysiloxane having a viscosity of 2 to 100,000 mPa·s at 25° C., (B) 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of a cationic surfactant, (C) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a nonionic surfactant, and (D) 11 to 550 parts by weight of water, wherein a content of component (C) is equal to or less than a content of component (B), and wherein an average particle diameter of component (A) in the emulsion is 600 nm or less. Related methods and cosmetics are also disclosed.

    A polyorganosiloxane emulsion composition characterized by comprising (A) a polyorganosiloxane, (B) an N-acylalkyl taurine and/or a salt thereof, and (C) water, the content of cyclic organosiloxane oligomers in said component (A) being within 3.5 wt. %, and a cosmetic raw material characterized by consisting of said polyorganosiloxane emulsion composition. The emulsion composition is characterized by superior cosmetic functionality in terms of moisture and smoothness.
