  [reaction: see text] The one-pot construction of polycyclic aromatic systems from acyclic ene-bis(propargyl alcohols) was achieved through a tandem dual [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement/6pi-electrocyclic reaction/intramolecular [4 + 2] cycloaddition sequence.
