Ligand replacement induced chemiluminescence for selective detection of an organophosphorus pesticide using bifunctional Au–Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>dumbbell-like nanoparticles
A facile ligand replacement induced chemiluminescence method is developed for selective detection of the organophosphorus pesticide parathion-methyl based on the use of bifunctional AuâFe3O4 dumbbell-like nanoparticles to overcome the interference from coexisting substances in a real sample.
The Suzuki cross-coupling reactions proceeded in excellent yields when it was catalyzed by magnetically recyclable nanocatalyst. This nanocatalyst provided very high catalytic activity with low loading level (1 mol %), because the palladium nanoparticles were so small in size (~2 nm) and located on the surface of the nanocomposite. It was also easily recovered from the reaction mixture using a magnet and reused for six consecutive cycles.

A water soluble Pt(IV) prodrug of cisplatin was synthesized by oxidation of cisplatin followed by treatment with succinic anhydride to achieve easily reducible ester linkage at axial positions which was evidenced from cyclic voltammetric analyses. Colloidal synthesis of ultrathin γ-Fe2O3 nanoplates

A facile method of synthesizing γ-Fe2O3 ultrathin nanoplates has been developed. These nanoplates are single crystalline and superparamagnetic at room temperature, with a thickness of only 1.4 nm. FTIR analysis has shown that the coordination mode between Fe and carboxyl group is dominated by bidentate configuration in the as prepared iron oleate complex, which is the key for producing the nanoplate morphology. By changing the reaction temperatures, the lateral size and thickness of nanoplates can be varied.
