The oxidative Heck arylation of homoallylicalcohols affords adducts in good yields and regioselectivities owing largely to coordination between the catalyst and hydroxy group (see scheme). Moreover, the Heckintermediate can be intercepted by an intramolecular palladium‐catalyzed olefin oxyannulation, thus leading to a wide range of α‐aryltetrahydrofurans, including highly functionalized scaffolds
