Temperature- and Pressure-Induced Charge-Density-Wave to Mott–Hubbard Phase Transitions in Quasi-One-Dimensional Bromine-Bridged Pd Compounds
摘要:
Temperature-and pressure-induced transitions from the charge-density-wave (CDW) phase to the Mott-Hubbard (MH) phase in the quasi-one-dimensional Br-bridged Pd compound, [Pd(en)(2)Br](C-n-Y)(2)center dot H2O (n = 4-9, and 12) (en: ethylenediamine, C-n-Y: dialkyl-sulfosuccinate), were investigated by means of crystal-structure analyses and Raman spectroscopy. From the systematic evaluations of the bridging-bromine displacements delta reflecting the CDW amplitudes, the distance L between the neighboring two Pd ions, and the Raman frequency omega(S) of the symmetric Pd-Br stretching mode, we demonstrated that omega(S) is a good measure of the CDW amplitude. By scrutinizing the variations of omega(S) in the pressure-induced and the temperature-induced CDW-to-MH transitions, we discuss the nature of the CDW-to-MH transitions in this category of materials.

A yarn finish composition is disclosed for incorporation with synthetic organic polymer yarn or yarn products to render the same oil repellent and resistant to soiling. The composition comprises (a) a solution of a salt of dioctyl sulfosuc- einate, propylene glycol and water, and (b) a fluorochemical compound consisting of polycarboxybenzene esterified with certain partially fluorinated alcohols and with hydroxyl- containing organic radicals such as 2-hydroxyethyl, glyceryl, and chlorohydryl or bromohydryl.
An oil-in-water yam finish composition, a process for treating yam therewith and yam so treated are all disclosed. The finish composition may be applied as a spin finish and/or overfinish to the yam, preferably the latter. The nonaqueous portion of the composition comprises transesterified high oleic oil and high lauric oil; polyoxyalkylene castor oil, triglycerol monooleate and/or triglycerol dioleate; decaglycerol tetraoleate and/or decaglycerol pentaoleate; 4,4' butylidene-bis(6-tert-butyl-m-cresol); and an emulsion stabilizer selected from the group consisting of a salt of dialkyl sulfosuccinate neat wherein each alkyl group comprises 8 to 18 carbon atoms, a salt of dialkyl sulfosuccinate in solution or mixture wherein each alkyl group comprises 9 to 18 carbon atoms, and a mixture of a salt of dioctyl sulfosuccinate and a salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid.
A thermoplastic resin composition comprising (a) a polyphenylene sulfide resin, (b) a polyphenylene ether resin, (c) a specific organophosphorus compound, and (d) a basic compound is disclosed. The composition exhibits improved compatibility between resinous components (a) and (b) and therefore provides a molded article having high mechanical strength and excellent appearance.
