The structures of absolute configurations of the halogenated vinyl acetylenes which are natural products from the red alga Laurencia pinnatifica (Gmal. Lamour) are described. The structure of trans- pinnatifidenyne 2 was determined by spectral, chemical and X-ray diffraction analyses.
