  A synthesis of cyclopenta[c]dihydro-3, 4 pyrannes from cyclopentadienylbutanols through an efficient sequence of regioselective formylation and amino-formylation reactions is described. The products are analogues and synthesis intermediates for iridoids and secoiridoids.
