Imidazole derivatives substituted by a normal alkyl group are shown to be efficient as a ligand for the copper(Ι)-catalyzed azide−alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. An alkylchain on the imidazole ligands shows an efficient steric effect and benefits the reaction.
