  Die Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von Hydroxyalkylimidazolen als Fungizide. Die Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel in welcher R, R1, R2, R3, m und n die in der Beschreibung angegebene Bedeutung besitzen, sind für den Gebrauch als Pflanzenschutzmittel geeignet und können mit besonders gutem Erfolg zur Bekämpfung von Podosphaera- u. Erysiphe-Arten eingesetzt werden, wie gegen den Erreger des echten Apfelmehltaus (Podosphaera leucotricha) und gegen den Erreger des echten Gurkenmehltaus (Erysiphe cichoracearum). Gute Erfolge werden auch bei der Bekämpfung von Getreidekrankheiten erzielt.
