  Complexes of lanthanide perchlorates with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-phenacyl-pyrazol-5-one with the general formula: [Ln(PMPP)5ClO4] (ClO4)2 (where Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd and Dy) have been synthesised and characterized. The physicochemical studies indicate that the five ligands and one of the perchlorates are coordinated to the metal ion in a monodentate fashion to give approximately octahedral geometries
