  在丙烯酰胺和可光分解的疏水交联剂（二丙烯酸酯化的Irgacure-2959）存在下，通过胶束共聚方法制备聚丙烯酰胺（PAAm）水凝胶。疏水官能水凝胶的合成后经由自由基共聚后，将凝胶样品在水性介质中暴露于0至17小时之间的不同时间间隔的紫外线照射下。根据溶胀和压缩试验的结果，水凝胶的物理性能会因紫外线暴露时间而改变。水凝胶的溶胀度随着照射时间而逐渐增加。此外，在溶胀试验结束时，经17 h辐照的水凝胶样品完全分解。根据扫描电子显微镜图像，紫外线照射的水凝胶样品表现出明显的降解行为。
