  摘要：

  3-Hexulose phosphate synthase catalyzes the aldol reactions between D-ribulose 5-phosphate 1 and a rather wide range of aldehydes. The stereoselectivity of the reaction was investigated with propionaldehyde 3 as substrate. The sense of chirality at carbon atom 5 is definite, but two isomers at carbon atom 6 are formed during formation of the new C-C bond.
