We have developed a visible-light-mediated formal [4 + 2] cycloaddition of arylcyclobutylamines with olefins, using QXPT-NPhCN as an organic photocatalyst. The corresponding cycloadducts could be obtained from electron-deficient olefins, aryl olefins and exocyclic olefins.
