A process for producing methacrylic resin mold- ings having excellent flaw resistance, weatherability, heat resistance, etc., which comprises bringing into contact (A) a preliminary reaction product obtained by polymerizing a composition of a hydrolyzate of alkoxysilane having (meth)acryloxy groups and silica sol to a reaction ratio of 15 to 60, with (8) a molding base material composed of a partially crosslinked acrylic gel polymer obtained by mixing (i) a resin material selected from the group consisting of an alkyl methacrytate monomer, a mixture of a predominant amount of alkyl methacrylate with an α, -ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and a syrup containing polymer thereof with (ii) a cross-linking polymerizable compound having at least two (meth)acryloyloxy groups in a proportion of 3 to 100 parts by weight of said crosslinkable compound per 100 parts by weight of said resin material, and partially polymerizing the mixture in the presence of a polymerization initiator till gel fraction reaches 15 to 50 %, and conducting polymerization under the condition giving a desired shape.
