of a novel series of 5-substituted isoxazolidine derivatives [3a,b(i–viii)] were described. The synthesis of title compounds was achieved via a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of C-(4-biphenyl)-N-(4-methylphenyl)nitrone, C-(4-biphenyl)-N-(4-chlorophenyl) nitrone with monosubstituted alkenes.
