  AbstractOrchinol (Va) ist durch Reduktion und Hydrogenolyse aus dem Dehydroorchinol‐benzyläther (I) oder durch Kondensation des Hydroxy‐tetralons IIIa mit Methylvinylketon zugänglich. Versuche, aus dem Enin X bzw. dem Tetrahydro‐diphenyl‐Derivat XIV durch Diensynthese in die Phenanthren‐Reihe zu gelangen, waren erfolglos.
