The amphiphilic diacetylenes with directly-bound aromatic substituents, i. e. 27-aryl-24,26-heptacosadiyn-1-ols and -diynoic acids, were synthesized and the solid-state polymerization of these compounds upon γ-ray and UV irradiation was investigated.
