Electrochemical Formation of Indazoles from Tropone Tosylhydrazones: Electrochemical Oxidations of Sodium Salts of Tosylhydrazones of Tropone and 2-Phenyltropone

Electrochemical oxidations of the sodium salts of tropone and 2-phenyltropone tosylhydrazones afforded 2-tosyl-2H-indazole and 1-tosyl-7-phenyl-1H-indazole, respectively. The reactions proceeded through the cyclizations of the corresponding hydrazyl radicals generated by electrochemical one electron oxidations of the hydrazone anions.
Asymmetric Hydrogenation of α,α′-Disubstituted Cycloketones through Dynamic Kinetic Resolution: An Efficient Construction of Chiral Diols with Three Contiguous Stereocenters
Chiral diols with threecontiguousstereocenters were synthesized by a highly enantioselective ruthenium‐catalyzedasymmetric hydrogenation of racemic α,α′‐disubstituted cycloketones involving dynamic kineticresolution. This new catalytic asymmetric method provides a concise route to the alkaloid (+)‐γ‐lycorane.

In this paper, we present an asymmetric alkylation of modified 2-arylcyclohexanones that employs a novel chiral ammonium bromide as a phase-transfercatalyst and an achiral auxiliary as a controller to improve the enantioselectivity to afford optically enriched products having a chiral quaternary carbon center.
