The microwave-assisted Kabachnik–Fields reaction of a series of 3-amino-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-ones, paraformaldehyde, and dialkyl phosphites or diphenylphosphine oxide led to α-aminophosphonates or α-aminophosphine oxides, respectively.
