In the presence of KF / alumina and catalytic amounts of palladium complexes, phenol reacts with allylic esters under mild conditions to give the corresponding allyl phenyl ethers.

The reaction of primary allylicacetates with Grignard reagents in the presence of catalytic amounts of Li2CuCl4 can be regiochemicallycontrolled to give either α- or γ-substitution of the allylic acetoxy group.
