  The constitutional isomeric osmabicyclo[3.2.2]nonanes 2a and 4a are obtained by reaction of the bistriflates X(CH2OSO2CF3)2 (X = cis-1,4-(1) and cis-1,3-cyclohexane (3)) with Na2[Os(CO)4] in dimethyl ether. The analogous very unstable iron compounds 2b and 4b are obtained by the same way. In the presence of CO, the ketones bicyclo[3.2.2]nonane-3-one (5) and bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-3-one (6) are formed
