Intramolecular oxidopyrylium-based [5 + 2] cycloadditions utilizing chiral auxiliaries were investigated. Both acetoxypyranones and silyloxypyrones were employed and sulfinimines, oxazolidinones, hydrazones, and chiral enamines were explored.
