  An efficient synthesis of the four isomeric epoxides 4a–d, key compounds to the trinem ring system, starting from (3R,4R,1′R)-(+)-4-acetoxy-3-[1′- (tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)ethyl]azetidin-2-one 6a is described. All the intermediates have been characterized by means of NMR techniques.
