    Synthesis of new bifluorophoric probes adapted to studies of donor-donor electronic energy transfer in lipid systems
    摘要:
    A series of bifluorophoric fluorescent probes with identical pairs of chromophores have been synthesized. The fluorophores are 9-anthryl, 3-perylenyl and rhodamine 101, and they are separated by a long rigid (bisteroid) or flexible (dotriacontane) diol spacer. The probes are designed for studies of intra- and intermolecular electronic energy transfer in lipid systems such as model and biological membranes. They are shown to incorporate in phosphatidylcholine vesicles with an hitherto unknown orientation.

    Disclosed herein are polymeric materials such as a coating, a plastic, a laminate, a composite, an elastomer, an adhesive, or a sealant; a surface treatment such as a textile finish or a wax; a filler for such a polymeric material or a surface treatment that includes an enzyme such as an esterase (e.g., a lipolytic enzyme, a sulfuric ester hydrolase, an organophosphorus compound degradation enzyme), an enzyme (e.g., a lysozyme, a lytic transglycosylase) that degrades a cell wall and/or a cell membrane component, a biocidal or biostatic peotide, and/or a peptidase. Also disclosed herein are methods of altering a material's property such as service life, flexability, or rigidity, by incorporation of an enzyme into a material capable of being chemically crosslinked by the activity of a lipolytic enzyme, a hydrolase, and/or a urease.

    Three fluorescent probes were synthesized for studying the excitation energy migration between two identical fluorophores. Each probe has two identical fluorescent groups (dansyl, 7-nitrobenzo-2-oxa-1,3diazole-4-yl, or fluoresceinyl) linked by the rigid bis-(8-aminooctyl)amide of 4,4'-biphenyldicarbonic acid or flexible dotriacontanedioic acid spacer, which enables the intramolecular energy migration through the distance of 3.2-3.5 nm.
