Convenient synthesis of a variety of photoaffinityprobes was accomplished by utilizing our Ns strategy and novel resin. The synthetic probes were evaluated via the labeling ability with the preseniline 1 C-terminal fragments, which was identified as a therapeutic target for Alzheimer's disease.

This communication introduces a new class of promising RNAligands, named polyamideamino acids (PAA), which are able to bind a targeted bulged stem-loopRNA fragment (HIV-1 TAR RNA) with micromolar affinities and with specificity comparative to dsDNA and tRNA; both the affinity and the specificity of PAA for TAR depend on their length and on the nature of the amino acid residues.

Four protected pseudopeptides from Glu-, Asp- and Gly-derivatives have been prepared via Mitsunobu condensation. It was shown to be a universal and preparative method which allows the formation of different structural molecules containing reduced peptides.
