  N-烷基-邻氨基苯甲酸与氯丙酮/K2CO3反应生成1-烷基-2-乙酰基-3-羟基-吲哚3。1,3-二羰基化合物3与草酸二酯缩合形成1,3,5, 6 - 四羰基化合物 5，当在用 HCl 饱和的醇中加热时，环化成 4-吡喃酮-2-羧酸酯 6。抗过敏酸 8 可以脱羧为吡喃酮 [3,2-b] 吲哚 9，从 6 中获得。5 与原甲酸酯/乙酸酐缩合得到 4-吡喃酮-3-酮羧酸酯 7、6 和 9，它们被转化为硫代羰基化合物 11 和 12。酰胺10由6c和氨获得。
