This communication presents a study of the scope of the catalytic hydrogenation and hydrosilylation of chiral exomethylene-substituted cyclopentanes and cyclohexanes utilizing the organolanthanide precatalysts Cp2 LnCH(SiMe3)2 (CpC5Me5; LnSm, Yb).
