    The present invention provides a safe, convenient and efficient method for producing carboxylic acid by a reaction of alicyclic alcohol with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide to thereby obtain carboxylic acid in high yield from alicyclic alcohol or alicyclic ketone under mild reaction conditions, wherein the reaction operation is simple and easy, a step for removing solvent after completion of the reaction is not necessary and influence and toxicity upon the environment and human body are markedly small. In order to provide it, an oily alicyclic alcohol is allowed to react with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalyst containing a metal compound belonging to Group 6 of the Periodic Table in a heterogeneous solution system.

    The invention provides a method for producing an (alkylphenyl)alkylcyclohexane, including a step of condensing an alkylbenzene with an alkylcyclohexene or an alkylcyclohexanol in the presence of an acid catalyst, and (alkylphenyl)alkylcyclohexane represented by formula (8). The (alkylphenyl)alkylcyclohexane produced through the production method can be transformed into an alkylbiphenyl, a biphenylpolycarboxylic acid, or a biphenylpolycarboxylic anhydride. Through the production method, an (alkylphenyl)alkylcyclohexane and an alkylbiphenyl of interest can be readily and selectively produced.     Disclosed is a two-pack fluorine coating composition which comprises a combination of: a base component comprising a fluorinated copolymer having a hydroxyl group which can be dissolved in a low-polar weak solvent even at a low temperature and; a curing agent comprising a polyisocyanate compound. Specifically disclosed is a fluorine coating composition comprising:; (A) a base component which comprises a fluorinated copolymer of a fluoroolefin and a monomer having a double bond copolymerizable with the fluoroolefin and which has a fluorine content of 10 mass% or more, wherein 5 to 30 mol% of the monomer has a hydroxyl group and 10 to 50 mol% of the monomer has a branched alkyl group having 3 or more carbon atoms; and (B) a curing agent comprising a polyisocyanate compound which is produced by the reaction between at least one diisocyanate selected from an aliphatic diisocyanate and a alicyclic diisocyanate and a monoalcohol having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and which has an [(allophanate group)/(isocyanurate group)] ratio of 90/10 to 81/19 by mole.

    A polyisocyanate composition having a polyisocyanate, which is a reaction product of: a polyisocyanate precursor formed of a dimer or a multimer of at least one diisocyanate selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic diisocyanate and an alicyclic diisocyanate; and a polycarbonate diol, which is obtained by copolymerizing at least one diol selected from the group consisting of a diol having 2 to 20 carbon atoms and a carbonate compound, in which the polyisocyanate precursor has an isocyanurate group and an allophanate group, and the isocyanurate group and the allophanate group are present in a molar ratio (the isocyanurate group/the allophanate group) of 80:20 or more and 99:1 or less.
