  The planar aromatic imidazo[4,5-f]-1,10-phenanthroline ligands have been used to prepare platinum(II) chloride and thiolate complexes. The X-ray structures of two thiolate compounds are reported, which show column-like packing in the solid state due to intermolecular aromatic pi-pi interactions.
